Itinerary Example
Day 1 – Friday, June 6th, 2025 – Arrive in Deer Lake
Arrive in Deer Lake airport on your late-night flight (TBD), meet your Tour Director and Driver at the airport. Transfer to your Deer Lake Hotel for the evening.
Day 2 – Saturday, June 7th, 2025 – Deer Lake to Port au Choix
Enjoy a bit of a later start to the day (breakfast at 9 AM at the hotel). Today start your journey up the Northern Peninsula with a brief tour of Corner Brook first and ultimately heading to Port au Choix for the night. On your way, stop at the Arches Provincial Park and if time permits, check out the Port au Choix National Historic Site upon arrival.

Day 3 – Sunday, June 8th, 2025 – Port au Choix to St. Anthony
Today the highlight of the excursion north is a visit to L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Park, the oldest European settlement in North America and UNESCO World Heritage Site where you will tour sod-house foundations and other ancient treasures with a local guide. Continue to your St. Anthony accommodations to check in and enjoy an included dinner.

Day 4 – Monday, June 9th, 2025 – St. Anthony to Cow Head
This morning start the day with a two hour tour of the Grenfell Heritage Properties to learn more about Sir Grenfell’s Legacy in Newfoundland and Labrador. Your travels will continue to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park for a two-night stay.

Day 5 – Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 – Gros Morne Touring
Discover why Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is truly one of the highlights of your tour. Enjoy a scenic boat tour (weather permitting) as you learn the geology of the Tablelands, see the bald eagles that frequent the deep waters of the fjord, and hear the history of the small villages nestled on the shores. It is an unforgettable experience; some say the scenery is unequaled in eastern Canada.

Day 6 – Wednesday, June 11th, 2025 – Cow Head to Gander
Have your camera at the ready as your time in Gros Morne National Park draws to a close. Later travel through central Newfoundland and on to Gander, where you spend two nights. Enjoy a visit to the North Atlantic Aviation Museum to see how aviation has played a crucial role in the development of Gander.

Day 7 – Thursday, June 12th, 2025 – Gander to Clarenville
A scenic drive along the rocky coast of Notre Dame Bay leads to the beautiful outport of Twillingate. Twillingate embodies everything so many Newfoundland and Labrador outports (a community where the sea was their only “road”) are famous for: stunning coastline, historical, picturesque streets, culturally rich entertainment, and peaceful country roads. Visit the Long Point Lighthouse then you are off to the Prime Berth Fishing & Heritage Centre, comprised of hundred-year-old fish stores, stages, and flakes. Touch a 15-meter Sei whale skeleton and view life from under the sea with the live underwater camera. This afternoon, enjoy Explore Iceberg Alley with the award-winning boat tour Iceberg Quest as you set sail from the vibrant outport community of Twillingate. Finish your day by travelling to Clarenville, where you will enjoy an included dinner and check-in your Clarenville hotel for a 2-night stay.

Day 8 – Friday, June 13th, 2025 – Bonavista & Trinity Touring
Learn about the hard life of the light keepers at Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site. This afternoon stroll through the lanes of charming town of Trinity and see several historic buildings including a typical early 20th century rural merchant’s house and a counting house. Return to Clarenville for dinner.

Day 9 – Saturday, June 14th, 2025 – Clarenville to St. John’s
Arrive in the capital city of St. John’s, Canada’s oldest and most distinctive city, for a two-night stay. Rising spectacularly from the water’s edge, St. John’s combines a modern city with small town hospitality. St. John’s is full of history and life. During a city tour, see the quaint side streets of a thousand colours, the Victorian architecture of the downtown area, the busy modern waterfront, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Confederation building, charming Quidi Vidi village and the panoramic view from Signal Hill National Historic Site. Day 10 – Sunday, June 15th, 2025 – St. John’s Touring
This morning, travel to Bay Bulls for one of the highlights of your trip, a boat tour to the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve (weather permitting). Witless Bay is alive with the rhythm of four million wings beating and of 40 tonne whales pulsing through clear blue water. The reserve contains North America’s largest Atlantic puffin colony more than 260,000 pairs of the province’s official bird nest here during the late spring and summer. The waters around Bay Bulls and the Reserve are a favourite feeding area for the annual migration of the Humpback Whales that make their way to the waters of Newfoundland each summer. All of your senses will be delighted during an educational and entertaining boat tour. Visit the most easterly point in North America, Cape Spear National Historic Site; the oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland is located at the most easterly point of land in North America. The remainder of the afternoon is free to explore on your own. Head back to your hotel for a Farewell Dinner.

Transfer to the St. John’s International Airport where you will say farewell to your Atlantic Tours’ Tour Director and Driver as you return home with many fond memories of your time in Newfoundland.
