About the tour

Celebrate Fall in the beautiful Kawarthas with a memorable day in Peterborough!  We’ll begin our adventure at the marina docks for a delightful morning sightseeing cruise along the historic Trent–Severn Waterway. Sit back and relax as the Captain shares colourful commentary about the rich history of Peterborough and its famous waterway. Our journey takes us across Little Lake, past the iconic Peterborough Centennial Fountain, and into the city’s impressive 121-year-old lock system.

The highlight of the cruise? Rising 65 feet in the engineering marvel known as the Peterborough Lift Lock — the world’s highest hydraulic lift lock! Watching the leaves show off their brilliant autumn colours from the water is an experience you won’t forget.

After our scenic cruise, we’ll head to one of Peterborough’s favourite dining spots, The Publican House, where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the award-winning The Canadian Canoe Museum, named one of National Geographic’s Best Cultural Spots in 2024. More than just a collection of watercrafts, the museum stewards an extraordinary collection of paddles, artifacts, archival photographs, canoe-building history, and rare books. In 2013, the Senate declared The Canadian Canoe Museum and its collection a cultural asset of national significance.

This remarkable museum respectfully acknowledges that it is located on the Treaty 20 Michi Saagiig territory, and the traditional territory covered by the Williams Treaties First Nations, and recognizes the enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples in shaping this community and country.

With stunning scenery, fascinating history, and meaningful cultural experiences, it’s the perfect way to celebrate autumn — and an especially fitting outing around the time of National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.

We look forward to Making Memories with you!
